L'ONU confirma la porositat de la frontera siriano-libanesa

La frontera del Líbano amb Síria està oberta al contraban d'armes i altres productes, segons un informe especial presentat avui pel secretari general de l'ONU, Ban Ki-moon.

Lebanese Army patrols along the border are ineffective, the probe concluded.

It added that Lebanon's security forces lack training carrying out anti-smuggling missions and its deployment is not aimed at stemming such activity.

"The lookout points and checkpoints are spread out according to traditional military doctrine and their aim is to provide territorial defense, not check smuggling," the report read.
